Time Management and Key Media Concepts

Today, in my media class, we were to discuss the various components our research, planning and construction is to comprise of. Things like genre research, codes and conventions research, storyboards, scripts, analysis of research, editing, feedback, etc were discussed in detail.

                                     

Then, we, as a class were to come up with a timeline as to how much time will we be giving to each of our categories i.e. research, planning, construction and evaluation.
It was decided that:
Research:
            1st September - 30th September
Planning:
            1st October - 30th October
Construction (Part 1):
            1st November-30th November
Construction (Part 2):
            10th January - 15th February
Evaluation:
            16th February - 27th February
Give or take a few days but right now this is our very roughly drafted timeline. However, it is imminent that we be done with our final portfolios by the 27th February.
Once done with our timeline, we were asked to finalise our ideas by the next class and come prepared with a synopsis of it; which means that within this week i.e. 1st till the 8th September,  we are to research extensively on our genre and be done with our final idea development.


For the synopsis of our idea, we were to answer some questions related to the key media concepts. The following is a bit of what these concepts  were based on.
- Media audience:
  Who will watch my media product?
  How audiences are identified, chosen, constructed, developed, addressed and reached?
  How the audience responds to my media product?
-Technologies:
  Availability of the technology
  The usage of the technology
- Agencies:
 The owner of these agencies
 Know what institutions to use
 Ideologies
 The intentions of using this institutions
-Language:
 Introducing the product
 Codes and conventions
 Narrative/structure
-Categories:
 Form
 Genre
 Categorizing differently
-Presentation:
 How places, people relate to each other?
 Stereotyping and Consequences
 Target audience
 Location
 Now, by the next week, I need to be done with my final idea and it's synopsis while relating it to these media concepts.
